Christopher Padurano

Chris has represented individuals and entities in both state and federal court, has assisted in corporate investigations, and has advised clients on corporate compliance issues. His clients come from many different industries and professions, including securities, real estate, hedge funds, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, law, and export-import. Among his recent cases are the following:

  • Assisted in the representation of a hospital administrator in connection with a State Attorney General’s investigation into Medicaid fraud. The client received an immunity agreement.
  • Participated in the representation of a client charged with importing counterfeit substances, including human growth hormone, into the United States from China. The client was sentenced to time served.
  • Aided in the representation of a physician charged with federal health care fraud and violating federal anti-kickback provisions. The client was sentenced to probation.

Upon graduating from law school, Chris served in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. As an officer and a military prosecutor, he investigated, prepared, and tried numerous cases before military juries and judges. While on active duty, Chris also served as the legal adviser to a unit deployed to the Middle East. His military awards include the Parachutist Badge, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. Chris also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas.

After leaving active duty military service, Chris was an associate at the boutique criminal defense firm Brafman & Ross, and in the White Collar Criminal Defense Group at Herrick, Feinstein.

Chris is a graduate of Lehigh University, where he was captain of the lacrosse team. He received his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and a Master of Laws from Fordham. Chris is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the New York Criminal Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Council, and has been a frequent guest commentator on CNN and Court TV.
